About Me

Greetings! My real name is Roberta Bush but I go by Robin. I'm extremely lucky to be here. I was born 3 months too early back when things like dirt and electricity were being invented. As a result, I'm legally blind. I can see anything at the end of my nose. Beyond that, the world is a bunch of pretty shapes and colors. Because I've always been this way, it's perfectly normal to me. I also have messed up lungs. So naturally I run marathons and teach fitness! My passion in life is working with active older adults (::whispering:: That's what we're supposed to call Seniors now).

My other job is teaching Computer Science and Web Design. In recent years, I've transitioned to less of that and more fitness classes. Prior to the pandemic, I taught 15 classes a week at Ala Wai Park, McCully Park, Makiki Park, and Waikiki Community Center. Now I teach 12 classes a week virtually via Zoom. I've lived in Hawaii on the island of Oahu for the past 42 years. You don't have to be in Hawaii to come to my classes. Just know that the times listed in the schedule page are HST (Hawaiian Standard Time). Someday when it's safe, I'll resume teaching in the real world. But I'll also keep teaching in Zoom too. I also teach for the Osher LifeLong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UH. And I occasionally do free classes and fitness seminars online for AARP.

I have the following certifications:
Fundamentals of Group Exercise, Senior Fitness, Bootcamp, Barre, Barre Pilates Fusion, Balletone, Tabata Bootcamp, and Pound.
I'm also a certified Personal Trainer and I'm current in CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid.
